J. Timothy Green '57 Memorial Scholarship

The J. Timothy Green ‘57 Memorial Scholarship was established in 1979 by the Class of 1957 in memory of Tim Green ’57, who passed away in 1978. The scholarship was funded by classmates, headed by John Wm. Devereux, Jr. ’57. Tim was originally in the class of 1956 and studied business administration. He left school for a period of time due to a medical issue and when he returned, he became a member of the class of 1957. Tim was full of fun, always upbeat, energetic, happy, and enjoyed life and CMC to the fullest. His medical issues kept him from being involved in sports, which he enjoyed, but he was always supportive, cheering the rest on. Both being from Hawaii, John Devereux grew to be a close friend of Tim and his family, spending holidays with them and being treated as a member of their kind, loving, considerate family. Mr. Devereux is Godfather to Tim’s son Michael as well. Tim’s life came to an unexpected end too soon, after a reaction to a bee sting. Mr. Devereux visited him in the hospital the day before he passed and recalled many happy times together. A great guy who is missed!
