Class of 1957 Memorial Scholarship

The Class of 1957 Memorial Scholarship was established in 2004 by alumnus John Wm. Devereux, Jr. ‘57 and other members of the Class of 1957. This scholarship was established in memory of John McCann and those in the class who have passed too soon. It is an outstanding class and includes Jack Stark, who served as CMC’s President for 29 years. John McCann was one of these fine CMC men, an outgoing, energetic, and happy person, always thinking of others. An excellent second baseman, he was All Conference and held the record for stealing bases, was Athletic Chairman on the Student Council his senior year, and active as an all around leader. John was a good guy who everyone enjoyed, was a friend to everyone, and was dynamic and thoughtful. He was the perfect catalyst for this scholarship award that many classmates supported and continue to do so.
