Grayle Howlett Memorial Scholarship

The Grayle Howlett Memorial Scholarship was established in 1995 in memory of Grayle Howlett. Grayle passed away from natural causes at age 49 in 1995, after returning from a CMS basketball doubleheader that evening. Less than two weeks earlier, he had been named Assistant Athletics Director for CMS, after twelve years of part-time assignments within the athletics department (including golf coach, sports information director, games management director, intramural director and conference publicist for SCIAC.) He was also a publicist for the California College Athletic Association, a local NCAA Division II conference.
